A new push to combat distracted driving is underway by the Hamden Police Department and the Connecticut Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.  Fines for violations start at $150 for a first offense, doubles for a second offense to $500 for each infarction after.

The program begins on Thursday 1 August,  through the 15th.  This is the second iteration of the program called, “U Drive-U Text- U Pay.
